9. KNOWLEDGE I'm now reading a book entitled Value Added Public Relations. Though I'm only starting it, still, there is some enlightenment dawning on me: what public relations is? So it is perhaps true that one can learn things faster from the books, the crucial thing is how you find your time, and to read what.
10. More Professional When in Shenyang with Vinita on Intel project. Everything went as usual as in other stops until in the end in the follow-up meeting. One of the lecturers hosted the meeting. And blah, blah, blah, he went on, then he said, high-light this time also includes our vendor's more professional work. This totally made my day, and left me regretting that I should have gotten to know this man more and get us more liked by him, as he is the highest sales manager in Intel China.
11. Piece of PR For Your Thoughts BEC and Legend are promoting the Ericsson's WebSwitch. How to get the most media publicity? If Intel now is selling Pentium V, the news papers will have a whole page article describing the story. Can our media briefing have the same effect? Not every company has the product that is of great interest to the news papers but still we have to try to see if there can be a larger-than-very-small-size article or an article different than the custom made news release appearing in the news paper. As for the BEC's WebSwitch, we invited 3 journalists to dinner before the media briefing, we briefed them, and then they took part in the media briefing. Afterwards, 2 of the journalists said they will try to make something bigger for us. At least this is a possibility, right? 12. A Road Killer? The other day I met a friend and asked her how many staff her company has, she started by: herself, a driver.... A driver? ! I asked her why her small company has to employ a driver. As it is now, more and more people can drive, and so more and more companies are not employing drivers to only do the driver's job. That's why I enrolled myself in a driving school. Some people is only trying to get a driving license, but I think I'd better stay there and use up all the teaching hours that they would offer me, if only for my own safety reason. A friend quipped that there would be another road killer on the road, but considering that I'm spending this much time in the training, the possibility is not that big, right? By the way, nowadays, there aren't many people as polite as me: yesterday, my new driving teacher told me in my face that my driving skills are really bad considering that I've spent 16 hours in the school!
13. Some wishes for Sissi Sissi is now leaving us for Britain, I have some wishes for her: 1. When she is back, she will have very good English, if only she can speak in American accent instead of English accent! 2. Not only that, some other new knowledge, Master of Arts? 3. That she comes back with a fully opened mind, full of new ideas, even eager to improve on things, and meddle with things not,... 4. That she keeps her ever-smiling face forever - 陽光燦爛的日子.
14. Pernilla's Cake I always said to Pernilla that Chinese food are the healthiest. From the cake she sent us, now I know that she is a good cooker, or at least a good baker. Hope she was not offended by my comments. Then again, I told her that we Chinese are straight forward people, that when somebody asked you out to dinner, if you don't think the food is nice, you can say the food is not that good, though you still thank him as the host. |
